Mandy’s Farm is pleased to be a 2015 recipient of the PNM Reduce Your Use Grant. Promising to reduce energy use by 10% in the year 2016, Mandy’s Farm has received funding to replace an industrial water heater and several indoor light fixtures with energy-efficient equipment. This project also partners with the Mandy’s Farm solar partnership with ReChoice, which will also reduce energy consumption.
Mandy’s Farm is pleased to announce that a solar panel installation has been completed at the farm property. The installation, which was done at no cost to Mandy’s Farm, will save a projected $40,000 over the next 25 years. It was funded by Albuquerque startup SunPort and a core of its earliest customers, through the startup’s sister non-profit organization, ReChoice. ReChoice is a 501c3 nonprofit working to make renewable energy available to everyone. Their nonprofit solar projects are funded primarily through the sale of SunJouleTM renewable energy microcredits (fractional SRECs). Learn more at www.rechoice.org.
Mandy’s Farm had considered going solar previously, but as a small, local non-profit had been unable to make the investment with its limited budget. The ReChoice grant funding and a discounted installation by Affordable Solar suddenly made the dream possible.
